Welcome to Warda Elnagar, an Egyptian PhD student at the University of Montpellier. She will be staying with us in London this month to work on her thesis which focuses on the ancient site of Tell Dafana in the Egyptian Delta. Warda plans to walk and cycle around London while she’s here which will take her through Kensington Gardens and past the royal palace. Welcome Warda! Great to see our resident musicians making such good use of Dr Anderson’s music room where he and so many friends played in the past. Well done @michal.oren and @joseteixeira_basstrombone_, more of these please! Just a week or so to go to apply for a place on our programme of research visits in 2023. Would you like to spend a month in London in pursuit of your research? Apply now - see link in bio. Deadline is 4 January! We are delighted to announce that the Trust has a new Resident Music Scholar for 2022-3: conductor and clarinettist, @michal.oren. For more about Michal and her career to date please see the Trust’s website.

See the LINK in BIO & please pass the message on / RT / share with any suitable candidates you may know!
Two visitors to the Trust’s Hornton Street house have recently departed after a successful month spent on their respective research projects: Cristina Lechuga Ibáñez and Yolanda de la Torre Robles, both of the University of Jaén, Spain (3rd and 4th from left, first pic). They and Trust Director Chris Naunton recently hosted a group from @TheEES including @engagingegypt and @essamnag678 from the Society’s staff and four #EESscholars. They got to see the house, heard a little bit about the Trust, and had a look at the Egyptology library and some of the older volumes it contains before retiring to Edgware Road for a suitably Middle Eastern dinner. A wonderful occasion! A Magical moment for the Trust’s Director, Dr Chris Naunton in Spain recently… It’s been such a pleasure in 2022 to welcome so many of the scholars who were originally due to visit us in 2020, until COVID intervened. Osama Amer, a Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities Inspector, Aswan, Egypt joined us in July and August as did Tatjana Kuznicov, University of Zagreb, Croatia. Both are pictured here in the study room of the Department of Ancient Egypt and Sudan at @britishmuseum. For a full list of this year’s scholars with links to testimonials please see LINK in BIO Many, many congratulations to John Paul Jennings, Trust Resident Music Scholar for 2021-22, on completing his masters degree with distinction. Never in doubt! Well done JP, we can’t wait to see what comes next!
