About

The Robert Anderson Trust provides talented young students and scholars with the opportunity to spend time in London in pursuit of their studies and research, through the provision of accommodation and financial support.

Each year approximately 20 young men and women are accommodated for a period of one month each, in the Trust’s two London houses, in the historic districts of Highgate and Kensington respectively.

Our visitors are often specialists in subjects in which the Founder, Dr Anderson was actively involved, particularly musicology, archaeology, classical history and Egyptology. Many come from countries with which Dr Anderson had particular connections, including Egypt and other countries of the Middle East, Greece, Turkey, Russia, Poland, Serbia, and Ukraine. We encourage applications from specialists in all subjects, however, and from anywhere in the world.

Further information about the application process for future visits is available here.

In addition the Trust supports students of music through a residential scholarship, a ‘Special Award‘, ‘Jean Middlemiss Award‘ and ‘Award in Memory of Ilona Eibenschütz‘.

Further information about our scholars, past and present, can be found here.
